I have decided to use vans in the photo shoot again similar to other products I have chosen they are in fashion. Also they are very common trainers so making the artist seem more “normal” and therefore possibly making him more relatable to the audience. Also they are black so match the glasses creating good colour co-ordination and therefore making him seem more stylish. Also originally vans were worn by skateboarders this could possibly link to the music genre I have chosen
I have decided to use burgundy chinos as I think the colour in very fashionable at the moment as are chinos. The colour stands out against the other colours i have chosen and therefore making them a focal point in the image. Also the chino type is skinny this in my opinion is more stylish and better relates to the genre due to connotations of skateboarding and such.
This piece of clothing is very simplistic; this allows other features of the image to stand out but none so more than the artist face. The piece of clothing being a sweatshirt makes the artist possibly seem more normal and less like a “famous artist”; this may appeal to the audience as they may feel that they are able to relate to him.
Alternatively to the sweatshirt I may choose a denim shirt. A shirt is usually described as being quite smart and formal, as the shirt is denim it will hopefully have connotations of the formalness however may be more stylish due to the fact that its denim. I was thinking that I will have all the buttons done up so the image stays quite simplistic and so does the colour scheme. The small pattern on each breast is quite unconventional which I like, this should stand out and also looks quite retro.
I might be using a beanie due to the fact that I think it relates closely to indie pop. I think if the model wears the hat so it covers some hair and not too much of the face the models face will still be a focal point. The colour of the beanie is hat is burgundy this matches the chinos creating a good colour scheme yet again. A problem I may have is that a notorious RnB artist constantly wears these types of hats, this may mean people might not link beanies with indie any more.
I am debating whether to have a beanie hat or a snap back. The reason for this is that snapbacks are very stylish and in fashion at the moment. And I feel that it would look quite good against the denim shirt, this in my opinion would create quite an unconventional image. Also I would be able to find one to match specific colours creating a good colour scheme. I also feel that the use of the hat could have too many references to Hip-hop and RnB music, possibly diminishing the indie image in trying to create.
