Electronic Front Cover

As you can see my masthead will be located at the top of the magazine this follows the convention of most magazines. The masthead colour will juxtapose that of the background/image this will allow the masthead to stand out more and therefore drawing the reader’s attention. The masthead will be in capitals this will hopefully make the magazine seem more important and urgent. The use of the masthead being at the top will allow the image to stand out as there will hopefully be clear separation between text and the image.

The date and issue number will be located next to the masthead in small and plain font this is due to the fact that I believe they are of minimal importance and offer no value or significance in drawing the reader’s attention. The use of date and price being placed next to the masthead allows the reader to see them but means it takes less space, allowing for more important aspects to be included.

The main cover line is going to link to the main image and therefore the double page spread. It’s likely to have a small caption from the double page spread to entice the reader. The colour again will contrast to the main image however it will be different to the masthead as I want that to stand out the most and draw the most attention. The alternative cover line is likely to link closely to the charts or about another artist or band however I may decide to have it about an upcoming gig as I want my main cover line artist to be the only artist therefore sanding out more.

The plug will relate to offers on stores such as TOPMAN or H&M or about a free poster inside. The plug will hopefully attract the reader as they are able to get free or cheaper products.

I am going to use certain literary techniques such as imperatives, doing this will order the reader to read or go to certain parts of my magazine doing so will express urgency.
